March 27th, 2006.

This morning we ventured out onto the front porch to get the mail. We really thought spring was here until we saw this!!! I think Newman was glad to see that there was, even if for a brief moment, the possibility of living inside the house with snow.

chewathon and then a rest...

The truck needed a new brake line a week ago. When Newman and I went to pick up the truck the guy at C&C gave Newman this little present.... one of those 50 hour bones!! Needless to say, Newman loves it!! And a little rest was in order after the chew... good life.

fully recovered...

A spirited Newman takes to the streets once again, enjoying walks and drives in the truck. He's obviously still growing, since the top of his head now touches the roof of the truck!

some relief...

Newman cools off in the snow on his 5th day of recovery. He's not happy about the big hood on his head. Only a few more days...

letting it breath...

Here's Newman's incision the day after his surgery, trying to bear the pain of it all.

post surgical blues...

On March 1st Newman had a big surgery to curtail any hopes of him being a pop. It was an especially hard surgery because one of his testicles didn't descend when he was a pup and the vet had to go up into his belly to find it. Not nice. He's recuperating at home, slowly but surely. This is Newman on his first evening home after surgery.
